Sweet Sunday

I treated myself with a lie in this morning.  No alarm clock set - woo hoo.  When I did wake up Steve got me a bacon buttie.  A bit of a disappointment as I'd bought the more expensive thick cut bacon from Tesco's and it was thinner than normal bacon and just fell apart in the pan!  Ah well onwards and upwards.
I dropped Steve off at the cricket club and decided to venture out even though it was raining.  So today the adventure was around Daisy Nook Country Park.  I do feel lucky to have so many nice places not too far away.  Talking of luck, the rain stopped and the swans and geese were on the canal.

So only 8,000 steps today but as I had my ankle weights on it was a good work out.
So home to do some homework but first a couple cards.
This first one was inpired by challenges at:
2sketches 4 you - sketch challenge - although I was too late to upload it!
Allsorts Challenge - strawberries and cream
The red of the strawberries just led me to the bright colours and the gingham is just perfect for any summer picnic.

This second card went texture crazy with the dry embossing and the ruched gingham ribbon.  It was inspired by challenges at:
Meljen's Designs - dry embossing
Tuesday Taggers - touchy feely texture
Moxie Fab World - Tesday Trigger - for me it was the colours and ruffled edges of the flowers that triggered me.

So back to my homework, which I can't share with you just yet, but as soon as I can, I will.  Enjoy the last few hours of your weekend

Supermarket Saturday!

I know that doesn't sound too exciting but it was fun.  I've been at Morrison's at Staveley near Chesterfield doing a demo day for one of my customers.  I got to meet lots of their customers, was well looked after and had a lovely day.
On the way home I stopped off to have one of my adventures.  This time it was around Langsett Reservoir.  It was 10,000 steps so that's about 6 miles, so I'm walking off the lovely meal we had in the week!

Not the greatest photo of me but as it was taken by me with my phone it's not too bad!

At this point I do have to say - I love my phone.  I recently got a HTC TouchPro 2 from work and it's fabulous.  It means when I go on a spur of the moment adventure all I need is my phone and some pennies in my pocket.  This is because I can listen to the radio on my phone and take my photos with it.  So I walked around Langsett giggling to Alan Carr.

So after a day of demonstrating what does a girl need to do?  Craft of course!
Here's some cards I made.  This first one was inspired by challenges at:
Charisma Cardz - flowers
I love the black outline on this card, to me it makes the card pop.

This little zig zag card was inspired by the challenge at:
Totally PaperCrafts - more than one fold

I hope you've had a lovely Saturday and that the sun has been shining where you are

That Friday Feeling

Wowzers, it's Friday already.  Where has this week gone?  I know it was a bank holiday but I'm sure I've been abducted by aliens and missed at least one more day!  So as I've got a busy weekend (demo day in Chesterfield on Saturday and some work for Sara on Sunday) I thought I'd better have a little creative time and make a couple of cards.

First up is the pretty little number, made from all sorts of bits and pieces.  The main image is a rub-on.  The card was inspired by challenges at:
Twisted Sketches - a sketch challenge and the twist - rub-ons
Get Sketchy - sketch challenge #41

I love the colours on this second card which was inspired by challenges at:
Cute Card Thursday - Colour challenge - black, blue and orange
Stampin' for the Weekend - summer/travel theme
Papertake Weekly- fun, fun, fun

So I'd better get to bed as I need to be out early in the morning.  Have a great weekend whatever you're doing xxx
