Winter Walking

Whoosh, who stole this week!  It's been another hectic but fabulous week.  I've been up in the North East as we've lots of planning to do in the office.  I've caught up with friends, managed to go dancing, been cooked for and generally had a thoroughly enjoyable time.
This weekend I've escaped to Hucklow in Derbyshire to go Winter Walking.  It's fabulous as I get to spend time with some of my favourite friends, Gwyneth and her hubby Robert and Archi (with her broken arm) and her hubby Ian.

It's been food for the soul being out in the fresh air today.

So what do you do after walking?  Make cards of course!  This one was inspired by the challenges at:

Chicken soup - recipe #24 - the sunburst shape inspired me to use this cute pleated embellishment
Meljen's Designs - square or round card
Paper Cutz - tags

Supplies used
Papers and embellishment - Scrap-a-gogo greetings kit
Stamps - just the ticket (PTI)
Ink - chocolate brown, Hawaiian shores, orange zest

This card was inspired by the challenge at:
Secret crafter challenge - with love - these colours just scream love to me

Supplies used:
Paper - in bloom (PTI)
Stamps - round & round (PTI)
Ink - true black (PTI)
Felt - true black (PTI)
Dies - PTI
Punch - Martha Stewart

So I'm off to bed now as it's up early for more walking tomorrow.
I hope you're having a great start to 2011, I know I am.

Hucklow

As always we've had a fabulous weekend up at Hucklow.  We get to play with paper and glue all weekend, and in between we get fed with great food, although there was no treacle tart this time, but the chocolate pudding wasn't a bad substitute!
I managed to get a full 20 page scrapbook done, nice simple pages but it was great to get our Florida photos scrapped.
Gwyneth taught a great class on making felt flower brooches.  I also made the note pade holder and matching pencil from Nichole Heady's blog but as we gave them away as presents to the girls who look after us there, I have no photos - doh!  I'll have to make another one now.
I'll pop some piccies up of the scrapbook pages up later this week, if I get 5 minutes, in the meantime here's some of the girls I got to share my weekend with.
Judy, Gwyneth and Me

Lovely Archi and me

Naughty KT pulling faces!

And we can't forget the other girls, Anna (see you in 2 weeks :) ), Elaine, Lynda, Shirley and our newest member of our crop, Judith.

I've going to be another busy week as there's lots going on at work (wink, wink), so pop by tomorrow for some exciting news.
It's lovely to be back to my blog, I've missed my little bit of cyberspace.

3,2,1 and I'm back in the room ...

... well the land of blogging!  Well it seems I've lost a week but it's all been good fun.  Last Sunday I went to a make and take hosted by the gorgeous Aimes and Kate from the A Passion for Papertrey Blog.  It was lovely to meet other people who love PTI products and I know I'll be keeping in touch with lots of the girls.

We made two gorgeous cards and I'll definitely be remaking them both again.

How cute is that car?

I then spent a couple of days at the office before coming home.  Normally I'd have found time to craft in an evening but this week I was preparing for this weekend and our annual Altrincham crop weekend up at The Nightingale Centre at Hucklow.  Woo hoo we're here and having a blast, it's one of my favourite places and I'm there with lots of my favourite people.
